Looking to walk a little lighter and give regular cling wrap the old heave-ho? But it's just so darn convenient? We hear you! But Cling Wrap is one of those products that is so handy, but harmful to the environment. For a product that has been designed to be used for just minutes, hours, or days - it lasts for years and years in landfill.
Since launching our Original Un-Plastic Wrap we've continued working with industry experts to make it the best it can be. We've learnt that as conventional Cling Wrap is clear, ours needs to stand out so it doesn't get mistaken for the conventional plastic stuff and muck up waste sorting! That's why we decided to give it a green update. It's still the same game changing Un-Plastic Wrap you're used to, just in a brand new colour.
Once you're finished using it, simply toss it into your home compost - it will break down in under 180 days, leaving behind no nasties. We hope you enjoy this revolutionary new kitchen staple as much as we do.

The Composition
What is it made from?
Our Un-Plastic Wrap is made from PLA and PBAT. Long story short, PLA is made from starch rich plants and the PBAT is an oil-based binding agent added to make a product degrade quickly enough to meet the home compostable standards. Totally safe for home composting.
What is PLA & PBAT?
PLA is the common name for Polyactide and is made from plants that are rich in starch (corn, wheat, and sugar beets). The plants are milled and then undergo a manufacturing process that turns them into long-chain polymers that act in a similar way to plastic! PLA is fully renewable and breaks down into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass (not into nasty microplastics), leaving nothing bad behind. PBAT is an oil-based binding agent added to make a product degrade quickly enough to meet the home compostable standard. PBAT (Polybutyrate Adipate Terephthalate) will decompose in your home compost leaving no toxic residues behind.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between biodegradable and home compostable?
Biodegradable means that a product will break down naturally over a period of time however, some varieties break down into microplastics, need high temperatures and UV light to break down. Home compostable products breakdown completely in home composting conditions, and not into microplastics - supporting plant life rather than destroying it.
How do I store it?
Store in a cool, dry place. Un-Plastic Wrap has a shelf life of 9 - 12 months.

How long does it take to compost at home?
Our Un-Plastic Wrap is DIN Home Compostable Certified (equivalent to AS5810 ABA Home Compostable Australian Standard). This home compostable certification verifies that a product is home compostable. This means our Un-Plastic Wrap must break down in home composting conditions in under 180 days, without leaving behind any toxins.

Love it!
I love this compostable wrap! So nice to have a green alternative that breaks down in our home compost system. The only thing is that its a bit tricky to tear a piece off the roll but otherwise its perfect!

So sad!!!
I SO much want to love this product . For one thing I bought lots of rolls! It simply doesnt come off the roll. It splits longways into ribbons! There is no way the cardboard edge will cut it and finding the edge is impossible ! I’m so disappointed. I want to see a video of someone rolling it out and cutting it off!!!

Once you've used your first sheet of Un-Plastic Wrap we suggest leaving the end of the next sheet slightly outside the box so you can easily find the edge next time. Wow, I was wondering when Sophie would bring out something like this - and I’m so impressed! We don’t use cling wrap often but thought this would be handy for those times when it is the best option - and knowing this can be composted, makes it so much better!
