Use & Care

Compost Bin: This is an indoor Kitchen Compost Bin - use outdoors is not advised and may affect longevity. Both the bin and filter can be washed in warm soapy water. Avoid hot or boiling water as this may damage the paint. Do not place in the dishwasher. We advise against placing hot food in the Compost Bin as the heat and condensation can affect longevity. Make sure the filter and the bin are both air dried before reassembly.

Vegetable Storage Tins: Wipe any food splashes on the outside with a damp cloth. Gentle hand wash for all over clean.

Bread Box: Wipe any food splashes on the outside with a damp cloth. Empty contents and turn upside down to remove any crumbs on the inside. Gentle hand wash for an all over clean and dry before reassembly.

Is this Kitchen Compost Bin designed for my countertop?

Yes! We've designed our Compost Bin to be a beautiful addition to your kitchen countertop to remind you to save your scraps from landfill and to start a conversation with guests!

How do I compost my food scraps?

So you’ve collected your food scraps, what next? Simply empty your scraps directly into your home Compost Bin. If you're lucky enough to live in a council that collects organic food waste simply add your scraps to your green bin. If neither of these are possible we'd encourage you to check Sharewaste to find your nearest option and keep your scraps out of landfill!

What should I use the Vegetable Storage Containers for?

These large food storage containers can be used for all types of vegetables and even some fruits. We love to use them as potato storage containers and to hide away half used open packets in the pantry!

Is your Bread Box airtight?

While it does prevent a lot of air flow, the Bread Bin is not air tight. We recommend using a bread bag or silicone pouch inside the bread boxes for fresh bread or storing your loaves in their original packaging. This also helps to prevent crumbs and keep your bread storage clean.

What is the Bread Box made from?

The Bread Box is made from a powder coated galvanised iron base and an oak lid that doubles as a cutting board. Genius!

Brilliant

I was given the green compost bin as a present and it is absolutely brilliant. No smells and it really does work. I ruined the filters by not cleaning them properly but that was my fault. Luckily you can order more. Highly recommend.
