Seed & Sprout Founder, Sophie Kovic: 5 School Lunch Ideas for your CrunchBox

For some of us buying a sustainable, usable lunchbox is the easy part. It’s coming up with lunchbox ideas for the week that is the tricky bit! That’s why we’re sharing 5 different lunch combinations that we know and love to help you get you through the week!

Lunch 1:

  • Sandwich: you decide what you’d like to fill it with!
  • Crackers with dip: we’re loving beetroot hummus at the moment and making our own crackers (if you have time).
  • Trail mix: this is ideal to get at your local bulk food store to store in your pantry.
  • Strawberries: adds some sweetness to your lunchbox!

Lunch 2 aka. Archie’s favourite combination!

  • Pesto Pasta: a crowd pleaser. This is great to make for dinner and to use the next day for lunches.
  • Crackers: a nice and versatile snack to have on hand for the week.
  • Olives: keep a jar in the fridge for snacking on.
  • Popcorn: this is such an easy, plastic-free snack to have on hand! Make a big batch at the start of the week so you can include in lunches or as an afternoon snack
  •

    Lunch 3:

  • Filo Pastry: include a variety of ingredients inside! We love a mix of vegetables.
  • Pretzels: these are great as they won’t go stale in a CrunchBox.
  • Fruit: great splash of colour and sweetness.
  • Tomatoes: another great addition of colour and burst of flavour.
  • Muffin: whether they’re sweet or savory, make a big batch on the weekend and if you don’t use then during the week freeze them for later!

    Lunch 4:

  • Tomato pasta: you can’t really go wrong with tomato pasta! It’s full of flavour, bright and easy to make.
  • Brownie: this is the perfect sweet addition to a lunchbox.
  • Berries: we love including berries as they are easy to eat and require zero prep!
  • Falafel balls: make a big batch of these on the weekend and you can include them in a lunchbox as a snack or as the star of the show in a salad or wrap.
  • Cucumber and dip: a simple, healthy, fresh and delicious!
  •

    Lunch 5:

  • Sushi: this is a fun meal to make with kids and you can choose your fillings!
  • Coconut Yoghurt & Granola: great for a morning or afternoon snack
  • Sliced Apple: Make sure you squeeze some lemon over it so it doesn’t go brown
