T IS FOR TENGO UN GATO EN MIS PANTELONES

Augmented reality (AR) can be a powerful experience. World Lens has introduced a way for AR to be used in tranlation, potentially making traveling in foreign countries not as scary. By simply holding up your mobile device, the app will translate languages and display them in real-time. Yes, this sounds crazy but its true [I have the demo of the app if you are interested in checking it out].

World Lens is rethinking how we handle language. The app networks the user with a handheld translator through the virtual environment. Furthermore, its not simply reading language and translating, it recreates the words in the environment through the device’s display.

Now when you travel abroad hopefully you can avoid being like Martin Lawrence because he seems to be confused with his Spanish and he plays the same part in different bad movies (Bad Boys – for life).

*note for type nerds

The app only generates language in Helvetica, ALL CAPS, however we won’t hold that against them…
