i like how the person has the ability to search/receive a suggestion before beginning their travel. I also like the second one where the icons float to describe what is needed. I wonder if the person could also pick a route of travel based on price like dirty cheap travel or daddy’s baby with the credit card travel?

Caitlin these look great. I like that you’re using augmented reality. It’s a step up from maps the way technology is moving, so I think it works better than just a normal GPS map, and you designed it well too. And in terms of your objective, it’s the best way to go. A person will be able to gauge how far things are, what they are, how popular, etc, all just by where they stand and look around.

Caitlin,
Your interface is clean without being boring and consistent without being super predictable. This looks very polished as it stands right now.. I guess the next step would be to think of how specific behaviors in flash would link the screens and make a cohesive, interactive system.
I would only say (as a precautionary measure) to be careful with type size when dealing with text heavy screens. Remember that the device is relatively small and a lot of text can be intimidating if it’s not presented in the most legible way (the final screen made me think of this).

This really aids the user in picking out the best option with different factors. It’s very strong visually as well. Question, how many is many different factors? I really like the augmented reality factor of it all too. Ditto on Dave with is there a way to choose a path of best fit, best option while being cheapest, so kind of a planning portion as well as the ‘in the now’ portion presented here?
Looks great!

This is a very nice, clean augmented reality system. Looking good!
Is there a way to save your favorites to a list? I also like everyone’s ideas about choosing your priorities–this app would benefit from customization, I think.

I love this! And I think it is such a great idea and I could see it being used not only to backpack through Europe, but even to travel to unfamiliar cities (road tripping?) in the US. I really like the “roam”, “search”, and “suggest” options. This makes users not feel totally dependent on the app, but when they need it, the tool is very helpful. I really like the AR with the pop-ups and what you can learn (good & bad) about each of the places. Great work!!
