Poor cat.
How does the app. evolve when your taste in music evolves? Do bands, songs, albums eventually fade out if you 1. no longer like it 2. or the band is no longer “in”?
I like that you’re looking at the social aspect of music & the various service ecology’s that are out there.
How does the application differentiate ‘good’ from ‘bad’ music per user? Is there a survey they take at the beginning of use?

I liked how you talked about already existing services, but maybe you talked about it too much. But maybe you were trying to say you were trying to combine all those services into one? Set of goals was nice. I wish you talked a little bit more about how exactly your app was going to do all of this. Nice storyboard. Can’t wait to see this app working.

I enjoy how you are guiding me through you maps, we can see your process but it is nice how you touched certain points. I am beginning to understand you app a little more…
I appreciate the social aspect of this application, as well as what you get out of it..
how can you push this concept a little but further and make it difficult, where is a catch that would make you want to try again and try harder or find the real gem of music?

Adding a social aspect is definitely a good idea. I also like how you’re syncing the environment to the music.

have a lot of good examples of other things that are out there, which I think has given you good insight on what to do with your app and how to make it exactly what you want.
Your objectives are also very clear and I get a sense of what you are aiming for specifically.
Syncing what your app plays with the weather, etc. is really awesome. would love that.

The different geographic categories are really interesting (personal brand…local geo…etc). Shows you’ve researched a lot about finding music, and I think your app will definitely show it. The app recognizing the weather and various other external stimuli was unique and sets it apart from the other music apps. The general social connectedness also helps it stand out.

Interesting concept of creating tags. I want to see what that looks like. I know we aren’t there yet, but I find that to be the most contrasting part of your application to the others you showed, cool.

Strengths:
-kudos for taking an unusual concept and breaking it down enough for it to actually be tackle-able.
-the sense of humor that you’re keeping throughout the development of this app is great.
Weaknesses:
-is it usable for people like Jen who knowingly like bad music sometimes? (hahaha…)
-I’m a bit skeptical that there’s enough of a consensus about what makes music “good” to semi-objectively evaluate the “goodness” of music… I guess that remains to be seen?

really good research shown in the presentation. It was useful to see how other sources can help you with your app and what you can draw from the interview. It seems you have well-thought out how your app is going to function. great job!

well researched. More social interaction with ppl that play/make the music.
How does the social scene you hang out with determine what you think is good or bad? (should this playoff stereotypes…. ppls notions about what is good/interesting?)
I like that ppl can tap into the different scenes without knowing the people. Ambiguous interaction. Would this be geographically based too? GPS tell you a good track to listen to?

Mortimer Toolbox is the best cat on the internet.
I like that you emphasize customizable, because everyone defines “good” as something different.
Music finding through genre would be something I WOULD CERTAINLY FIND HELPFUL.

laying out the groundwork at the beginning was effective.
I found the part about what influences peoples tastes the most interesting. I can picture some really awesome info graphics in my head that map musical attributes with geography.
The goals were effectively communicated.
Maybe you can help people understand how different types of music influence them. How rhythms, tones, change the mood.
